Foot and Mouth Outbreak: UK Debtline offers advice

Money Advice Direct has launched an emergency freephone telephone number for those in the rural community needing urgent financial advice.
The number is: 0800 074 6918 Ref RE (24 HRS, Monday to Sunday.)
An e-mail advice service info@insolvencyhelpline.co.uk, providing an information sheet followed by a personal response, is also available.
The Rural Emergency Project will fulfill an urgent need for a money advice service for the rural community, during the current foot and mouth outbreak. Money and debt advice is available for farmers and other rural businesses as well as farm workers and other employees.

"Money Advice Direct has been working hard to cope with the problems arising from the foot and mouth outbreak and they have reported a huge need for money advice during what is a desperate financial crisis for many in the countryside. We are providing a freephone, non-judgemental and confidential money advice for farmers, associated suppliers, farm workers, haulage companies, those involved in tourism, shopkeepers and other small businesses to help them ride the crisis."
Money Advice Direct Service provide freephone, confidential and non-judgemental money advice in the UK. Advisers can help sort out which debts are most urgent, negotiate realistic repayment terms with creditors, represent clients in court and even advise on bankruptcy.
