Lenders must abide by new regulations on PPI
Did you know that after the 14th January 2005 the rules and regulations with regards to the selling of PPI changed?

- Lenders selling PPI must making clear to the customer the key features and exclusions of the PPI policy
- The lender and PPI company must make clear any elements of the policy that don’t meet customer demands/needs
- The lender and PPI company must not use language that appears to recommend any particular policy over or above another
Please note that in the UK there are certain checklists or rules of compliance that a PPI seller must carefully follow.
- You may have been missold PPI if you were sold a PPI policy that ran out before the term of the loan finished.
- You may have been missold PPI if you purchased the PPI policy after 14th January 2005 and did not receive a 'demands and needs statement'
- You may have been missold PPI if you were told that you were obligated to take out a PPI policy.
- You may have been missold PPI if you were not told that you would not be covered if you had existing illnesses.
- You may have been missold PPI if you were told to pay in advance for the PPI.
- You may have been missold PPI if the PPI amount was added to the loan and then the loan company had the chutzpah to add the amount of the PPI onto the loan and then charge interest on whole amount.
- You may have been missold PPI if it was not made clear that buying PPI was optional.
- You may have been missold PPI if were not informed that you had the right to shop around for a different PPI policy
- You may have been missold PPI if you were made to believe that you may be refused the loan or credit if you didn’t take out a PPI policy via the borrower.
- The PPI policy details were not property explained.
- You were unable to make an informed choice about purchasing the PPI policy.
- You may have been missold PPI if you at the time I took out the policy you were unemployed, self-employed, on a fixed-term contract, retired and were not told of the policy exclusions relating to unemployment cover.
