How To Reclaim Unfair Bank Charges?
The term bank charge covers all fees charged by the bank on customers. There may be several types of bank charges such as:-
- Monthly charges for account provision
- Any bank charges on transactions other than overdraft limit excesses, like bounced cheques
- Overdraft interest bank charges
Bank charges for going beyond sanctioned overdraft limits or trying to make payments in cases where no sanctioned overdraft exists.

- A good example would be an exorbitant amount charged for letters sent to a customer informing them that they have infringed an overdraft limit, or imposing daily fines along with interest for an overdrawn account.
Find out how much the bank charges are:-
- Carefully check all the bank statements and sum up all the charges that can be deemed excessive.
- If you do not keep old statements, then ask the bank for a comprehensive list.
- Ask for any forms that needs to be filled, then follow up with phone calls.
- Contact the bank and ask for a refund Persistence correspondence can achieve positive results more often than not! Keep a copy of your correspondence and take a note of the person who received it, the time and the date.
