We receive a lot of calls and emails from the public asking; "Will my IVA appear in the newspapers?".
An IVA, unlike Bankruptcy, however, is not advertised in any newspapers so there is no need suffer embarrassment.
One of the main advantages of an IVA is it not a public matter, so your name will not appear in the newspaper. This is one reason why the IVA procedure has become so popular. Remember an IVA is a private legally binding agreement between you and your creditors and as a result is not advertised.
People are also worried that their employer may find out about their IVA. The only way that may happen is of your employer carries out a credit check via a credit reference agency.
An IVA is not advertised in the local, national or trade newspapers
