We receive a lot of calls and emails from the public asking; "What will my monthly payment be on an IVA?".
Please note that the actual IVA monthly payment you make each depends what you can afford. To work the IVA monthly out the IVA unit will carry out a detailed income and expenditure analysis to see what you can afford. Every IVA case is different and the actual figure will depend on your personal circumstances and will be agreed between you, the IP and your creditors. Normally the monthly payment will not be below £200.
The IVA monthly payment is generally paid by standing order, direct debit or by bank giro credit. As a general rule the first payment IVA monthly payment must be made within one month of the IVA being set up.
The following illustration provides an example of what the typical IVA minimum payments would need to be for a variety of levels of debt. Please note that there are certain creditors, such Paragon, Northern Rock, HSBC, RBS Group, M&S Money, HBOS, and First Direct who require specific dividends over the 5 years. In the main, most creditors would look to at least 25% of their money back through the IVA, however the Insolvency Practitioner will be able to assess the latest requirements of the creditors involved before putting forward the proposal.

Disposable income is Income left after reasonable living expenses have been paid. Disposable income is used to cover necessary living expenses like food, shelter, and transportation.

So the IVA monthly payment will be based on your disposable income. This is what you are left with after you take away your reasonable monthly living expenses (excluding your debts) from your monthly income.
