We receive a lot of calls and emails from the public asking; "What do I do if my monthly IVA contribution will be late? ".
If you believe that you will not be able to make a payment on time, as per the IVA agreement, then it is essential that you let the Supervisor of your IVA know as soon as possible and explain why the payment will be delayed and when it can be expected to be paid.
Under the terms of the agreement, all payments should be made on time otherwise the IVA could fail and you would then be left facing bankruptcy.
If there is a good reason for the payment being late on this occasion then it shouldn’t have a detrimental affect on the IVA, however if it happens again and again then it may be necessary to reconsider the viability of the IVA.
